The Owl

The owl as one of my totems has brought me so much wisdom and patience over the last decade. This photo was taken outside my front window. The barn owls on the property where I live have been very prophetic in times of change, birth, death, transformation and rebirth. Many fear the owl as a harbinger of death but I have experienced them as protectors and keepers of the light and extremely wise. As I have stated on one of my other posts as well as the creation of my logo, many nights while moon gazing , the beloved creature would circle the moon and swoop over my head and just become one with me. I have rescued a few of them and they were given appropriate medical care and released back to the wild.  I carried one in a basket in my car, while driving with one hand and using a rattle so it would feel the sensation of life and a heartbeat until we arrived at the wildlife rehab center.  When they extend their wingspan and bless you with their presence, the white of their essence embraces you and you know you are one with creation and divinely guided and protected.  This photo was taken the day after my beloved eldest brother passed. I believe spirit was letting me know he had transitioned peacefully.
